Holiday Spectacular Park in Wicksburg, AL is the perfect place to enjoy the season. During the month of December each year, the park is open during the evening hours so that visitors can enjoy their spectacular light display and take in a host of other activities. This is a family-friendly park you will enjoy bringing your children to during their Christmas vacation from school, because it is free from profanity, drugs and alcohol. Park opens 5:30PM and closes 9:30PM until December 31st, 2013.
Millions of Christmas lights adorn the trees and buildings throughout Holiday Spectacular Park, and there are several unique light displays as well. A few of them include a manger scene, the “little old lady who lived in a shoe”, and Santa's workshop. There is also an oversized Christmas tree decorated with hundreds of lights for you to enjoy. You’ll be able to walk through the light display at your own leisure, as the park is open from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. nightly. Reservations are not required, but are nonetheless recommended for large groups.
Holiday Spectacular Park is home to an open-air stage, which frequently hosts musical acts who are performing contemporary Christian, bluegrass and blues music. During the month of December, Christmas music is often played on this stage instead. Concerts are free with admission to the park during the Christmas season on the nights they are being held. Be sure to check our events calendar often for concert listings so you can plan your visit accordingly. Remember to bring a lawn chair with you so that you can sit back and enjoy the show after you make your way through our enchanting light display.
For the children in your group, a visit to our park wouldn’t be complete without talking with Santa Claus. St. Nicholas is on hand from December 1st - December 23rd, and will gladly greet children during their visit. No appointment is needed in order to see Santa Claus, and children of all ages are invited to spend time with him while at the park as well. Check our website or give us a call to confirm Santa’s availability before you visit.
Santa isn’t the only Christmas character that can be found at Holiday Spectacular Park. While you’re enjoying our light display, you could just see Frosty the Snowman or Rudolph as well. These characters enjoy greeting our guests, and will be happy to pose with you for a photograph if you’d like. You’re likely to fine these characters engaging in Christmas games nearly anywhere inside the park, so be sure to keep your eyes open for them whenever you pay us a visit.
There’s a lot more to do at Holiday Spectacular Park aside from looking at lights and talking with Santa Claus. We also have free hayrides, face painting and staff-monitored fire pits for you to enjoy as well. Visit our vendors for shopping and have a look around as you just might come up with some unique Christmas gift ideas by doing so.
Our fire pits are used for more than just warming yourself after a walk in the park-they’re also ideal for making S’mores. In fact, we have a S’mores shop inside our park where you can purchase S’mores kits or marshmallows to roast over an open fire. All you have to do is enjoy the fun, because our staff members keep the fire going at the right height, and monitor it to make sure it doesn’t get out of control. After you’ve finished your S’mores, feel free to hang around the fire and chat with our workers a bit so that we can get to know you a little bit better.
While taking in our light tour, you’ll want to stop by our beautifully decorated chapel, which is located close to one of our scenic ponds. Built to resemble an old-fashioned church, this chapel is often home to weddings and other special events throughout the whole year. It can be an excellent place to catch your breath and reflect a bit on the true meaning of the Christmas season, as it often gets forgotten during this especially busy time.
When visiting Holiday Spectacular Park, you’ll want to wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can walk a reasonable distance in. Since it can get quite chilly in December, you may want to wear a coat, hat and gloves as well. If you have little ones in your group, it can be a good idea to bring a stroller or wagon for them to ride in while looking at the lights, and a blanket for them to wrap up in so they can stay warm. Don’t forget a blanket for yourself and a lawn chair, especially if you’re attending on one of the nights when an outdoor concert is being held.

We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards at the gate, to include Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
